Here's the link to the <a href="http://www.craftsy.com/blog/2015/07/drawing-challenge/#.Vbz4DuxsL84.facebook">info page</a> and then the prompts.<br />

And here is my first drawing #AugustDrawingChallenge day 1, Grow. I figured the best representation would be be to start drawing one small thing and let it grow from there. First is was a bunny, then some dandelions (bunny's favorite) and then the background bits came. I used a combo of pencil, colored pencil, jelly roll stardust pens and one of the cheapy $1 pens from Micheals.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10141725298489499977noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6540836817823652348.post-11258311639782824982015-07-02T07:28:00.002-07:002015-07-02T07:28:53.707-07:00Things I did last week<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I'll want to post and think 'oh my pictures aren't as glossy as they could be' or that I have nothing interesting or at least interesting enough to stay. And then I go and see how much time has passed between post and I think that I need to do something big and wonderful to make up for the time lost, and then I panic thinking what can I do that's good enough.<br />
<br />
So I'm just going to knock that crap off. Instead I'm just going to post when I have some pictures of the neat stuff I've been working on, or when I find something amusing or awesome.<br />
<br />
Here's some of the stuff I've been working on just lately.<br />

My Snail is getting her shellAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10141725298489499977noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6540836817823652348.post-31556790654917808272014-12-01T13:42:00.002-08:002014-12-01T13:42:38.226-08:00Ticker Launch Story TimeSo a couple of weeks ago my sister tagged me in a post on the Facebook. It was a post from the wonderfully talented<a href="http://lisamantchev.com/"> Lisa Mantchev</a>. She put out a call for artists and makers, she wanted to write some flash fiction and give her lovely characters from her new book <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Ticker-Lisa-Mantchev-ebook/dp/B00JJZ3QV2">Ticker</a>, the chance to go holiday shopping through the various shops (made real in verbally gorgeous world of Bazalgate of course).<br />
<br />
So I jumped on the chance, which was awesome cause sometimes I avoid those and regret it later. And now my shop will be featured in this amazing setting. <a href="http://lisamantchev.com/2014/12/bazalgate-shopkeeps-launch-week-giveaway/">Starting today and running until Dec 5th, new stories everyday</a>. I literally squee inside with excitement and do a little wiggle every time I think about it...which is often, I may get committed soon.<br />
<br />
And Then I read the book (mostly, still a wee bit left but I refuse to be interrupted every five minutes by the family so I keep having to wait). It's set in the future that never was, which is awesome because steampunk is where i want to runaway to instead of the circus. It's about a girl, feisty and headstrong (in a good way, girl kicks ass) who gets a brass heart a.k.a ticker. And then subsequent trial of her Dr. for the steps he took to make her that ticker. And then there's adventure and hijinks and all sorts of shenanigans. And that's all I'm going to tell you because I need to go and read the end of it so I can leave a <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Ticker-Lisa-Mantchev-ebook/product-reviews/B00JJZ3QV2/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_img?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1">review</a>. <br />
<br />
I highly suggest you grab <a href="http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/19223830-ticker">Ticker</a> first, but life on the edge is good too. So read the new stories and enjoy! Or pick up the <a href="http://www.theatre-illuminata.com/">Theatre Illuminata</a> series. <br />

P.S. you can get a signed copy <a href="http://www4.bookstore.washington.edu/_trade/ShowTitleUBS2.taf?ActionArg=Title&ISBN=9781477825297&SKU&sdb=ALL">here. </a><br />

So I'm sure some of you remember my dragon project. Well it's been sitting in the closet pretty much since my last post about it. Partially do to boredom, that's a lot of satin stitch in those trees, but also because it just wasn't going in the direction I wanted it go. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vkIqzi5TsZM/VFkRi5-xn3I/AAAAAAAABFM/Ce8-7_iR2PI/s1600/DSC04469.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vkIqzi5TsZM/VFkRi5-xn3I/AAAAAAAABFM/Ce8-7_iR2PI/s1600/DSC04469.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JdZft00cDaA/VFkRiMF-jfI/AAAAAAAABFI/pviqBAc0DUI/s1600/DSC04470.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JdZft00cDaA/VFkRiMF-jfI/AAAAAAAABFI/pviqBAc0DUI/s1600/DSC04470.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Jd--OwBwn6E/VFkRgg-9CFI/AAAAAAAABFA/N3oHFVtgp5I/s1600/DSC04471.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Jd--OwBwn6E/VFkRgg-9CFI/AAAAAAAABFA/N3oHFVtgp5I/s1600/DSC04471.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--rF4JBqKnNM/VFkRkNARhXI/AAAAAAAABFY/gipp-iu3KOs/s1600/DSC04472.JPG" height="240" width="320" />So much satin stitching!<br />
<br />
I wanted it to be similar to my <a href="http://voodoomaggie.blogspot.com/2010/07/bit-of-progress-and-hot-hand.html">shooting star</a> embroidery, loads of layers colors and stitches. Of course with a needle felted body it disagreed with me and kept eating my stitches. So I tried to build up a base of accent beads to stitch around. It wasn't horrible, just not what I wanted. So this morning I had what I'm hoping will turn out to be a brilliant idea and ripped off all the beads and stitching (okay so i gently cut it out so as not to ruin the piece).<br />
Also I don't love the background, it may get ripped out also or more likely just added to. <br />
So with any luck I will have new, non ripped apart dragon pictures for you soon.<br />
<br />
In other news I finally got into miniatures, the making of them since the love of them has always been there. I love it so much I was tempted for a short while to give up crochet all together...but who am I kidding, I will never be satisfied by just one crafty thing. Here's some of the tiny stuff I've made.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7NHLx1iW2zc/VFkT1fX8utI/AAAAAAAABFw/jtPYR92ZHSE/s1600/DSC04134.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7NHLx1iW2zc/VFkT1fX8utI/AAAAAAAABFw/jtPYR92ZHSE/s1600/DSC04134.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>

the hourglass is made of two gel cap halves hot glued together, then I took a hot needle and made a hole so sand could fall through it. You have to give it a bit of a wiggle but the sand will move.<br />

Head and foot boards for some beds I'm making. I love making tiny furniture.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10141725298489499977noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6540836817823652348.post-80884792358492446222014-09-15T08:50:00.003-07:002014-09-15T08:50:47.278-07:00So I recently started a new job. I work at one of the big name craft stores (not the icky one with the birth control BS) and I love it. Every time I go to work I get ogle all the goodies and it's an actual job requirement that I talk to people about their projects, for as long as it reasonably takes to get them the things they need to complete it...it's heaven, I should have done this years ago. Everything is so much better when work doesn't make you want to pull all your hair out and stuff it in your ears.<br />
<br />
I've been making stuff but getting the time to get it up in the shop has been a little harder to find, I need a minion who likes that part so I can focus on the making, the making is way more fun. But I'm working on it, and a bunch of other things because I will never not have a billion projects in varying stages of completion. Here's some of the finished ones.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CJWawwjua68/VBcBB9EZLoI/AAAAAAAABD0/Dt8ThkGCiEQ/s1600/DSC03578.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CJWawwjua68/VBcBB9EZLoI/AAAAAAAABD0/Dt8ThkGCiEQ/s1600/DSC03578.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
this is something I actually made for myself, rare but every now and again I decided I need pretty things.</div>

Needle felted bear, woven trees, watercolor for both the fabric layer (with the big cut out circle and the trees) and a painting for the background of the piece. The grass is an old wool sweater eaten in the wash, and french knot leaves. This was my momma's birthday present (one of them).</div>

I was browsing pinterest and my sister had pinned a really cool illustration from Alice in Wonderland and it inspired these lovely ladies. The large rose went on to become a shadowbox for my sister's birthday. A picture of which I cannot for the life of me locate. </div>

She's got a tight budget while she's home with my newest nephew and she knows that's just how mine always is. I've seldom let a lack of funds dictate whether or not I make things so she asked me what materials I use when I felt (needle mind you, never tried wet felting...yet).<br />
<br />
I use regular stuffing for the core of any felting project I start. The more cottony feeling the stuffing is the better. I use Morning Glory stuffing, which if any of you have used it you know the texture is different from box to box. When I get the more slippery stuff I make a quick run over the finished shape with a lighter to shrink up stray bits that would otherwise show through the final color layer.<br />
<br />
For the color layer I will use a couple of different things. On rare occasion I'll actually get to use roving (I have a stash of angora from a a friend I made one thing and it was so soft and wonderful I couldn't think what would be awesome enough to use it again) but for the most part I use yarn or felt. They both need to be shredded back into rough fiber before you can use them so there's a lot of elbow grease involved. <br />
<br />
Some of the fluffier chunkier yarns, like Lion Brand Homsespun, are really easy to shred, you just have to find the thin thread that's wrapped around the thicker fluffy strand and unwind it. The thicker strand will pretty much fluff apart.<br />
<br />
Otherwise I just bust out the scissors and get to work like I'm curling a party ribbon.<br />
<br />
<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="344" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/xF6me1tCXy4" width="459"></iframe> <br />
I don't suggest using cotton, it shreds readily but doesn't felt worth a damn.<br />
<br />
For the felt, you don't really want to use the cheap stuff you find in most crafts stores by the sheet. Either go by the yard or get the really good stuff on Etsy. I know not terribly money saving to tell you to go buy stuff, but it's still cheaper than roving and if you use felt at all it's a win-win.<br />
<br />
Same method when shredding the felt, though once it gets started you can just pull it apart with your hands and save your thumb a bit of ouch from the scissors pushing up on it.<br />
<br />
<br />
<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="344" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/6fCGMPymcz0" width="459"></iframe>
<br />
And that's what I do every time I felt something. Speaking of which, here are some of the projects I've got going on right now.<br />

I want to make. In an ideal world it would support me and my family but until then I'll do it anyway. Every cut, needle stab, bruise incurred is a war wound I wear with pride. I close my eyes at night and I see pretty stitches or projects taking shape. It is my passion in this world.<br />
<br />
Here's a few of the things I've been working on lately. The dragon is sadly all phone pictures so the quality might not be great but I wanted to document the progress as it develops.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SMCBp_o570A/U59tiQjYNDI/AAAAAAAAA8I/KR-PYBCHNGg/s1600/IMG1933" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SMCBp_o570A/U59tiQjYNDI/AAAAAAAAA8I/KR-PYBCHNGg/s1600/IMG1933" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aBRcpjXKdFM/U59tk6ArLRI/AAAAAAAAA8Q/QlMtTsL9Z_M/s1600/IMG1932" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aBRcpjXKdFM/U59tk6ArLRI/AAAAAAAAA8Q/QlMtTsL9Z_M/s1600/IMG1932" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_-2Zeha1Wiw/U59tmwtM1iI/AAAAAAAAA8Y/TTAZngwF-KM/s1600/IMG1931" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_-2Zeha1Wiw/U59tmwtM1iI/AAAAAAAAA8Y/TTAZngwF-KM/s1600/IMG1931" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
the arm will be added once everything else is finished, just before it goes in the frame, the idea being that it will hang over the frame itself. It was made using a wire armature and small quartz crystals for the claws. Everything was wrapped in fleece and will be most likely covered either completely or nearly so with stitches<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KTEu_s2_O7E/U59toavnTyI/AAAAAAAAA8g/6mVQZu4Jhb0/s1600/IMG1930" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KTEu_s2_O7E/U59toavnTyI/AAAAAAAAA8g/6mVQZu4Jhb0/s1600/IMG1930" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AJUIFOy4o7k/U59t4GQGhJI/AAAAAAAAA9Y/jnJqSHmE8qI/s1600/IMG1917" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AJUIFOy4o7k/U59t4GQGhJI/AAAAAAAAA9Y/jnJqSHmE8qI/s1600/IMG1917" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
I created a netting to go over most of the body, mostly I was playing around with it but I also needed something to help coral the fuzz from the stuffing used to felt the body<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tIXESs-ANEY/U59t582IneI/AAAAAAAAA9g/dMtmwS3MB5s/s1600/IMG1915" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tIXESs-ANEY/U59t582IneI/AAAAAAAAA9g/dMtmwS3MB5s/s1600/IMG1915" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
Various widths of cording to make the base of the tree. once it's all completely wrapped more texture will be added.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2VXDxJXLcIw/U59t7aXcH0I/AAAAAAAAA9o/E_coC7BDBvE/s1600/IMG1911" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2VXDxJXLcIw/U59t7aXcH0I/AAAAAAAAA9o/E_coC7BDBvE/s1600/IMG1911" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RRF3Flhzbb4/U59t8nL6LLI/AAAAAAAAA9w/iOJDhqexW1M/s1600/IMG1909" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RRF3Flhzbb4/U59t8nL6LLI/AAAAAAAAA9w/iOJDhqexW1M/s1600/IMG1909" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
Felting the body. For this I felted directly into the fabric, takes awhile but I love the look of it. Though I would suggest a more cotton based stuffing for this, they stuff I have on hand is a little slippery feeling and required being held to a flame to get the strays to go away as scissors just didn't cut it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-A4obxi6zneQ/U59uTvgtEfI/AAAAAAAAA_Y/FKCPxc6VJ1o/s1600/IMG1500" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-A4obxi6zneQ/U59uTvgtEfI/AAAAAAAAA_Y/FKCPxc6VJ1o/s1600/IMG1500" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
The beginnings of the tree, you'll notice it's not blue here. I realized because of the use of a red pen (yes I know not my best idea) to draw the dragon I needed to hide the lines. Originally I had thought to just stitch all of it, and I still may. But I did cut up a shirt I wear to do the blue so probably going to have some of it show.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sNuSBE1xBDQ/U59uVWV07cI/AAAAAAAAA_g/UboDpeGqCZg/s1600/IMG1444" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sNuSBE1xBDQ/U59uVWV07cI/AAAAAAAAA_g/UboDpeGqCZg/s1600/IMG1444" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
My original drawing, it's not going to turn out quite the same as this, but such is life and I'm okay with that.<br />
<br />
<br />
I've also been working on some miniature dolls with the thought of selling the wee bits when I'm finished. I will for sure make and sell a few but they are quite time consuming (11 1/2 hours) so I have some other hopefully awesome plans for some of the wee darlings.<br />

<br />
What can I say, life went sideways. I lost all joy in everything and became a zombie to my day job, my attempt at a social life and my kids.<br />
<br />
But I'm back and pulling everything together these days...mostly that is.<br />
<br />
Here's some of what I've been doing recently and I hope to be around more get back into the swing of things as it were.<br />

<br />
Today I remembered that I ran a contest, well a raffle of sorts and forgot to pick a winner and hand out a prize. Pretty sure my brain went on vacation and forgot to the rest of me.<br />
<br />
So here we are, I've picked the winner (random drawing) and contacted her. I'll post the finished skull once it's complete. <br />

(oh yeah the prize was a custom sugar skull, like these) Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10141725298489499977noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6540836817823652348.post-61782990266546824782013-07-10T07:16:00.001-07:002013-07-10T07:16:51.232-07:00sit down children, and let me tell you an epic tale of destruction<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Tahoma, Arial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Once upon a time not that long ago, I was tasked to make a koi toy (hehe, that's fun to say) So as I always do when starting I project I ran to the pinterest to begin searching out my target so that I might better complete said task.</div>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Tahoma, Arial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Whilst strolling through the many and varied selections, I stumbled upon many a painting of koi in ponds, with all the layers shown, rock, fish, and lilies such as this:<br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><img src="http://media-cache-ak2.pinimg.com/736x/94/dc/3f/94dc3f565c326f02f67f0ae45ef855fd.jpg" style="margin: 0px; max-width: 100%; padding: 0px;" /></div>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Tahoma, Arial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
These lovely paintings gave me an idea and I ran with it over the hills and through the woods to grandmother's house and back again and the craft store four times due to epic fails...</div>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Tahoma, Arial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
But before the fails, there was success. For this wasn't any fail, this was a last minute destruction of hours of hard work.</div>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Tahoma, Arial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
It started like this:<br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><img src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5496/9237249618_c2e416091e_c.jpg" style="margin: 0px; max-width: 100%; padding: 0px;" /><br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" />That's a bit of needle felting, various counters, beads and seeds sandwiched between two layers of fabric and stitched in place.</div>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Tahoma, Arial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Then it became this:<br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><img src="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2879/9237249506_a2aacfa8f8_c.jpg" style="margin: 0px; max-width: 100%; padding: 0px;" /><br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" />With a bit of paint and a ruined pair of pants (I never think to change into already messy clothes before I do messy things)</div>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Tahoma, Arial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Then after wetting and separating a million strands of floss, stitching them into place, finding and washing twigs and pouring the first thin layer of resin, it became this:<br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><img src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5509/9237249300_0f3716ac0c_c.jpg" style="margin: 0px; max-width: 100%; padding: 0px;" /></div>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Tahoma, Arial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
I was super excited and cocky at this point and had also finished the fishes whilst waiting on the resin to set. I added another thicker layer and when it was almost set, added the first fish:<br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7358/9237249118_6877e01089_c.jpg" style="margin: 0px; max-width: 100%; padding: 0px;" /></div>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Tahoma, Arial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Can you tell that I was expecting this to go well?</div>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Tahoma, Arial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
I poured another layer over the fish to anchor it in and give more depth between it and the rest of the fish I had made:<br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7344/9237248994_f881265a48_c.jpg" style="margin: 0px; max-width: 100%; padding: 0px;" /></div>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Tahoma, Arial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
He looked so cute and shiny his home, I'm glad he didn't know what was coming.<br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" />Between these layers there was a visible line, it was mostly air bubbles that had come to the surface of the previous layer and not popped. I couldn't see them before I added the second layer or I would have figured out how to fix it first (I learned afterwards that a good sanding wouldn't have been a bad idea). So after seeing this I decided I would add the rest of the resin as one thick layer so as not to have a bunch of tiny stripes mucking up visibility.</div>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Tahoma, Arial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Big fucking mistake. At this point I'll take a step back and mention I was using acrylic water from walmart, another big mistake. Well to make the last layer I had to mix two packages...in case it isn't obvious I have never used resin before this. One of the packages was old. When I mixed them and poured them I filled the boxes and went and hopped in the shower disgustingly pleased with myself.</div>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Tahoma, Arial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
I came back to this:<br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7372/9237236348_938d32e9ed_c.jpg" style="margin: 0px; max-width: 100%; padding: 0px;" /><br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" />see the lines in between layers? Ain't that fucking special?<br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><img src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3758/9237235978_d5fba64319_c.jpg" style="margin: 0px; max-width: 100%; padding: 0px;" /><br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" />the resin super-heated and literally boiled the fish up off the bottom of the layer to the surface. Not to mention cause swirly, bubbly gaps everywhere<br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><img src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3746/9237236692_180c0cc873_c.jpg" style="margin: 0px; max-width: 100%; padding: 0px;" /><br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" />It's been sitting for over a week and it's still squishy to the touch.</div>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Tahoma, Arial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
So absolutely crushed, and with the intended recipient on her way home from vacation that day, I decided to start over. I went to the store bought another awesome box and new, expensive resin. I bought a glass measuring cup and wooden stir sticks too, I was going to get this right this time.</div>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Tahoma, Arial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Box one, I bring home I paint. I make a new bottom, new grass, start new fish. Wanting to make sure I didn't ruin another bottom, I poured a bit orf resin into the recessed windows. I thought it would be good way to see how the resin would set and not get in the way of the bottom fitting. So I mix and I pour and it turns green. I was so mad I threw out with a shriek of frustration.</div>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Tahoma, Arial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
I hop in the car, get a new box and start again, this time no paint thinking that was the problem. So I pour a light layer to coat the windows and when it sets it looks like frost...well maybe I had mixed it wrong or there was a reaction with the glue I used to keep the resin from seeping out.</div>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Tahoma, Arial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
So back to the store, and home again with a new box. Try again, mix everything very precisely, pour a slightly thicker layer thinking maybe it just set too quick. Nope, failed again, this time it looked like thick water drops on glass and had a yellow tint to it (so did the second but I had assumed that was the glue, which I left off this time)</div>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Tahoma, Arial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
So at this point I said fuck the box, I'm done spending money. I dig around my stash of awesome things and find an empty snow globe with a wooden base. I decided to change up the idea a bit and just use that. Thankfully I had the foresight to try the resin before I started making anything to fit this piece. I again mixed perfectly, and poured into the clean glass dome.</div>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Tahoma, Arial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
It set yellow, lumpy and cloudy. At this point I decided it was the resin, it was old (don't know if it was just decided to believe it for my sanity). I took it back and got my money out of it thankfully.</div>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Tahoma, Arial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
So after all that I gave up...sort of. I still had some fish, the rocky pond bottom, and goddamn it I was going to make something awesome with them...just no resin...possibly ever again.</div>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Tahoma, Arial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
So I went once again to my stash of stuff and dug up a shadow box. Then I made this:<br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><img src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3742/9234171137_c2b12fc9ba_c.jpg" style="margin: 0px; max-width: 100%; padding: 0px;" /><br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7322/9234169431_d82499fd7a_c.jpg" style="margin: 0px; max-width: 100%; padding: 0px;" /><br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><img src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3675/9236951382_ecde8343e4_c.jpg" style="margin: 0px; max-width: 100%; padding: 0px;" /><br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><img src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5491/9236949104_dc7405926e_c.jpg" style="margin: 0px; max-width: 100%; padding: 0px;" /><br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7444/9236949366_8b355078a9_c.jpg" style="margin: 0px; max-width: 100%; padding: 0px;" /></div>
<div style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Tahoma, Arial; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
And now I am happy, and soon it will go to it's home with it's new owner...that's right I did all that just to give the thing away for because.</div>

I did a crazy thing, I quit my job - in this crapfest of an economy. What the hell was I thinking? Well mostly that we had a nice fat tax return, my job was giving me an added layer of stress and self doubt in the future of my life's goals, left me feeling like I had no time to really work on anything. So I quit and now I'm riding a roller coast of happy, excited, freaked out, and holy hell what did I do?<br />
<br />
During a happy, excited moment I decided I want to open a shop. I want to sell my stuff and find a way to provide affordable vending space to other artists and makers. Ideally I hope to attract enough sellers to make the place self sufficient so we can keep it going with less stress on everyone {especially me ;)}.<br />
So that's what I'm going for, with the help of Dream Savers. If you've never heard of them you should google Individual Development Accounts in your area if you are interested in opening a business, buying a home or going back to school -seriously it's the best thing you'll ever do for yourself.<br />
<br />
If anyone has any advice or a Valium I'd appreciate it...or maybe just a paper bag to breathe into for a minute.<br />
<br />
Also here's a cute thing:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TD4ZkvP1Brs/UUXyB4psFiI/AAAAAAAAA54/TgWK9tH_4WE/s1600/P1040990.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TD4ZkvP1Brs/UUXyB4psFiI/AAAAAAAAA54/TgWK9tH_4WE/s1600/P1040990.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is the first tiny thing I ever made way back in...2007.</div>
<br />
<br />Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10141725298489499977noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6540836817823652348.post-56725401303952025462013-02-23T21:39:00.001-08:002013-02-23T21:41:23.109-08:00It's alive! or how anxiety eats your brain.Mostly.<br />
<br />
Life ate me for while and I'mnot entirely certain it's finished with me yet. But the good news is that I got my crazy, giant, time consuming, brain frying, eyeball melting book all done. My advice to those of you who buy the second book - don't try to make them all back after back after back after...you get the idea. Also use good lighting. I got an Ott light for Giftmas and I love it.<br />
<br />
Completing the book was hard, I felt like I was never going to get the time to work on it because I had to take on a part time job that often ends up being full time and then some. That led to anxiety about not having enough time and a desperate wish or two to stop time for a bit. That led to me feeling like a failure because my inner voice is a mean spirited little gremlin. All day long with the 'everyone else has there sh!t together why don't you?' and the 'you're gonna fail, why even try' - and those are the nice things she says.<br />
<br />
When I feel like that it's really hard to concentrate, unless it's a facebook game because then I'm all 'hey everyone I ever met on facebook can you send me a (insert asinine, imaginary thing here)?'. I think the devil invented facebook games to suck all your will power, energy, and proper hygiene habits, into oblivion.<br />
<br />
Oh and another fun little side effect as a result of the anxiety, gremlins, and facebeast, all your creativity and inherent skills have gone and hid in the basement...or something. So every task feels like it can never ever be accomplished. Yay life!<br />
<br />
On the bright side, I finished the damn thing even with all that, and I have better idea of what it is I want out of my life. So there's that at least.<br />
<br />
<br />
Also I made a ton of stuff, take a look.<br />
<br />

You get so caught up in just trying to survive that you leave little bits of yourself in your wake. I'm trying my best to get back on track though, I'm humming along with book number 2, and I've been playing with some new cross stitch pattern ideas, and I've thinking about doing up some shrinky plastic buttons.<br />
<br />
I;m trying really hard not to get ahead of myself, but now that I feel excited about what I'm doing again I feel like I have a ton of catching up to do.<br />
<br />
Oh and because I apparently run on deadlines and stress I signed up for <a href="http://www.swap-bot.com/">Swap-Bot</a>. So far I'm limiting myself to writing letters or the sending of postcards to avoid feeling overwhelmed (and to avoid the postage cost while I'm broke). It's a lot of fun and you should all join and look me up (Voodoo Maggie, just like everywhere else) maybe we'll end up in some of the same swaps and I'll get to send you a letter :)<br />
<br />
and so I don't leave you without anything pretty to look at enjoy these random photos from my massive horde of them.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I've been crazy busy and then crazy lazy in a horrible cycle for a few weeks now. But I've pulled my head out of ...the sand, yeah that's where it was.<br />
<br />
I had a big wordy hoopity doo, but lucky you I deleted it and sent to myself via <a href="http://futureme.org/">futureme.org</a>, it'll be interesting so see what reading them a year from now will be like. It will probably involve a lot of headdesk's and faceplam's but then so does my 'journal' from 1999. Or it did before I burned it.<br />
<br />
Anywho, back to more entertaining things. My book was featured in issue 12 this lovely magazine (it came out a few weeks ago, but I haven't had a chance to share) I wanted to get a copy before posting it, but alas my finances are tight. It looks good though. <a href="http://molliemakes.themakingspot.com/">Here's the link for your perusal</a> and the <a href="http://www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk/stitch-craft/mollie-makes-magazine-back-issues/mollie-makes-issue-12/">specific issue</a>. <br />
<br />
I also snagged the good room for my crafting purposes. I wanted it when we moved in but I figured I get what I want most of the time, it had to be hubby's turn sometime right? Well lucky me he outgrew the space and now it's mine!! It's only half-ish done right now but I love it so much! So much I'm just gonna drop some more exclamation points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! almost done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...!!!...!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZHc2c1Z-WWk/T4pR14HSLqI/AAAAAAAAA2s/f0Hxg2EDaVg/s1600/P1580103.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZHc2c1Z-WWk/T4pR14HSLqI/AAAAAAAAA2s/f0Hxg2EDaVg/s320/P1580103.JPG" width="214" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The lovely built in. Pro tip, don't spray paint shelves that you can't take outside. Unless you like huffing paint in which case you should slap yourself for being dumb.</div>

Alright I've kept you long enough from whatever it is you really meant to be doing online. </div>
<br />
I've been doing Thing-a-day and if you've seen it then you know <a href="http://thingaday2012.wordpress.com/2012/02/02/lots-of-little-things/">these cherries</a> were my first post. And I promised a pattern when I got them into a vague garland assemblage. Well it's here! Okay so it isn't the most exciting thing ever, but it's cute, quick, easy and free.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fwH4Kvz5oxs/Ty8YsYqWDyI/AAAAAAAAA1k/gvl1ooOp_MA/s1600/DSCN2365.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fwH4Kvz5oxs/Ty8YsYqWDyI/AAAAAAAAA1k/gvl1ooOp_MA/s320/DSCN2365.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Cherries<br />
<br />
Foundation: Ch 2 SC 6 in second Ch from hook<br />
Row 1. *2SC in each* across<br />
Row 2. *SC 1 2SC in next* across<br />
Row 3-4. SC across<br />
Row 5. *SC 1 2SCtog* across<br />
Row 6. *2SCtog* across<br />
Do not finish<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-R3wZRtZ62RA/Ty9NhMZxI9I/AAAAAAAAA2U/7Sz1Iq981N4/s1600/DSCN2361.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-R3wZRtZ62RA/Ty9NhMZxI9I/AAAAAAAAA2U/7Sz1Iq981N4/s320/DSCN2361.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Stem<br />
<br />
Join green and 2SCtog across, this should leave you with 3 stitches. SC in around for 4-7 rows depending on how long you want it. I use the flat side of my hook and come up from under the loop, it's easier when working with such short rows.<br />
<br />
Finish off one cherry and make the stem of the second, join it to the first with SC around both (you should have 6 stitches at the end of this step.<br />
Join with SS to first stitch of next row, Ch 7 SC in second Ch from hook HDC DC 3 SC join with SS to stem.<br />
<br />
Finish off.<br />
<br />
To make cherries of differing sizes I used different hooks F and H.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-M1RFcRM8gi4/Ty9MxJNTGbI/AAAAAAAAA10/gPxUeKfzbHA/s1600/DSCN2410.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-M1RFcRM8gi4/Ty9MxJNTGbI/AAAAAAAAA10/gPxUeKfzbHA/s320/DSCN2410.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
To make the garland, crochet several cherry pairs, Ch 15 join a cherry pair at the top of the stem and repeat to desired length. When you added your last cherry pair Ch 17 and finish off. (I always add two extra stitches when I finish a chain so that when you pull it tight to knot it, it's remains even with the pattern directions.)<br />
<br />
Abbreviations.<br />
2SC - Two single crochet in same stitch<br />
2SCtog- Decrease over two stitches /SC two stitches together<br />
HDC - Half double crochet<br />
DC - Double crochet<br />
SS - Slip stitch<br />
Ch - Chain<br />

Well here is a dimly lit, slightly fuzzy picture of said fox.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7WX83lxE4jw/Tu2AsnzJSwI/AAAAAAAAAzE/1OAvN75Rdy0/s1600/190.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7WX83lxE4jw/Tu2AsnzJSwI/AAAAAAAAAzE/1OAvN75Rdy0/s320/190.JPG" width="240" /></a></div> I haven't had a chance to write it up proper yet (filling Christmas orders has had me working overtime for a few weeks now). He'll be ready soon though I'm hoping to put out at least four new patterns in or before January. For the fox, the <a href="http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s320x320/408066_10150437684276924_80577506923_9061428_1249406922_n.jpg">Duckie</a>, my <a href="http://voodoomaggie.blogspot.com/2011/06/where-has-time-gone.html">yeti playset</a>, and for a super cute otter that's been mostly done for over a year now but for some reason never finished or shown.<br />
<div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-J2R_LS-4adQ/Tu2A14hIWjI/AAAAAAAAAzM/X0DHu6Q5OX0/s1600/DSCN1696.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-J2R_LS-4adQ/Tu2A14hIWjI/AAAAAAAAAzM/X0DHu6Q5OX0/s320/DSCN1696.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">(cheap watercolors from Micheal's)</div><div>Working these past few weeks has been difficult, I sometimes feel overwhelmed with fulfilling other people's needs that I lose a little bit of the spark that crocheting normally brings me. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9DaWWjZ1Tts/Tu2Dh-hm-ZI/AAAAAAAAAzk/JJUxnzuVJMs/s1600/DSCN1697.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9DaWWjZ1Tts/Tu2Dh-hm-ZI/AAAAAAAAAzk/JJUxnzuVJMs/s320/DSCN1697.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">(Notebook paper is really not ideal for wet painting)</div><div>When that happens I pull back and work on other interests. Lately that has been watercolors. I normally hate to paint, at least with acrylics (to quick to dry for me) but I have been having a ton of fun with watercolors. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-FuY91C6h7qs/Tu2DokBEXuI/AAAAAAAAAz0/bQvg62SdfVc/s1600/DSCN1699.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-FuY91C6h7qs/Tu2DokBEXuI/AAAAAAAAAz0/bQvg62SdfVc/s320/DSCN1699.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div> I bought a cheap set at Micheal's and started experimenting. Then I saw a thread someone had posted in a forum I visit from time to time, asking what you wanted for Christmas but knew you weren't getting.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qKgRxkmSh_U/Tu2DlKOZSoI/AAAAAAAAAzs/SlokpxdNaN0/s1600/DSCN1698.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qKgRxkmSh_U/Tu2DlKOZSoI/AAAAAAAAAzs/SlokpxdNaN0/s320/DSCN1698.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">(Splotch bunnies, I started after something I saw on pintrest and decided last minute that I wanted bunnies instead of birds, hence the derpitude of some of them)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div> I mentioned a set of nice watercolors and a watercolor notebook. I knew I wouldn't get it because I had just started with the painting and hadn't mentioned to anyone how much I was enjoying it. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1fdBp_y9WJU/Tu2DsMZqc1I/AAAAAAAAAz8/s-I6wsGm5g8/s1600/DSCN1711.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1fdBp_y9WJU/Tu2DsMZqc1I/AAAAAAAAAz8/s-I6wsGm5g8/s320/DSCN1711.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">(Work in progress, watercolor on fabric)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div> But a certain sneaky person on the forums bought them and sent them to me for Christmas. I have been having a blast with these and I've only just started playing with them.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DzGIwRu5flU/Tu2DvVocMwI/AAAAAAAAA0E/FUlg5GTDhyg/s1600/DSCN1714.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DzGIwRu5flU/Tu2DvVocMwI/AAAAAAAAA0E/FUlg5GTDhyg/s320/DSCN1714.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">(Another work in progress, watercolor on fabric with needle felted letter, buds, and embroidered stem)</div><div><br />

Stay tuned, coming up next my newest fox pattern and a cross stitch freebie. (Plus maybe more progress on sad frogAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10141725298489499977noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6540836817823652348.post-5831213200147464752011-11-02T11:29:00.000-07:002011-11-02T11:29:57.106-07:00Finding timeI started a new job a month ago and I love it I really do, but it makes finding time for my shop really hard. So I've been struggling to keep up and not fall behind. I manage just barely and I stress a lot, but what's life without a little stress right? I've managed to complete a few things (some still need finishing touches so I'll so those off later when they are 100% finished.) One of the things I finished I am super proud of. It was a request I came across on a forum I take part in. The requester wanted a giraffe hat, like this one <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee381/cincyjulesxo/GiraffeHat.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee381/cincyjulesxo/GiraffeHat.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br />
I offered up services thinking I could make my giraffe into a hat. I wasn't sure I would like the outcome but I really wanted to try. Well it's finished and I LOVE IT!! here's my son modeling it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6044/6306637252_139670208c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6044/6306637252_139670208c.jpg" width="213" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6104/6306115023_5028141782.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6104/6306115023_5028141782.jpg" width="213" /></a></div><br />
(the fabric sticking out is a hankie so he can keep his head cooties to himself -not that he has bugs or anything)<br />
It is so cute! and I can't wait to make some more (my son was a bit sad that he couldn't keep this one).<br />
<br />
Also this week we went out thrift shopping for little man's Halloween out fit (last minute on Monday morning). While were out one of the thrift shops had a little sign that said "all toys free" as you can imagine there wasn't much left at that point but I managed to find a few goodies. I collect all sorts of toys/pieces, I like little things always have. One day I plan on taking a series of Ispy photos with all if or maybe get adventurous and try something along the lines of <a href="http://mymilktoof.blogspot.com/">My Milk Toof </a>(seriously awesome blog). But in the midst of all the bits and bobs was this sad looking little frog.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6053/6306795680_3a3690a698.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6053/6306795680_3a3690a698.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6239/6306795198_3298ee003e.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6239/6306795198_3298ee003e.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
I'm going to give him a makeover and see if he doesn't perk up. So here is what I've been working on lately. They are clay critters that will have a magnet or crocheted pin back added to it at the buyers request.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://ny-image2.etsy.com/il_570xN.267328430.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://ny-image2.etsy.com/il_570xN.267328430.jpg" width="263" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://ny-image2.etsy.com/il_570xN.267326306.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://ny-image2.etsy.com/il_570xN.267326306.jpg" width="267" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

I keep thinking about it and planning stuff to post, and even getting pictures for some of the stuff I plan. Then life happens all at once and I forget what I was doing. It's not a fact about me that I enjoy but, I often remind myself of <span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: #f6f6f5; color: #666666; font-family: Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;"><a href="http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0014817/">Professor Philip Brainard</a>. </span> I even lose my pencil/hook/needle about twenty times a day (often in my hair).<br />
<br />
So until I can figured out how to manage/remember things better I will not be promising any anythings for future posts. They will just have to be a surprise from now on. I have some new stuff in the works that I am very excited about but you can't see until it's all the done. Which will be tomorrow, so join me then and have a look at some of what's been keeping me occupied.<br />
<br />
Oh and my baby girl starts second grade tomorrow. I'm so excited and so is she.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10141725298489499977noreply@blogger.com0
